    Serkan İlseven

    (Colour, Geography, Nature, Abstract)

İlseven received education in the field of geography, which has distinct effects on his works of art. Even though the majority of his work is abstract, the artist's perception of all colors of nature, transforming them into his own memory, and transferring them to the platform of painting through the use of geometric designs at some points are quite remarkable.

In fact,  it is these geometric patterns that take us to the geographic history. When all these are considered, the artist's works can be considered as the expression of his inner world and emotions by the effect of nature. Another case that can be attributed to his inner world is that the artist, who was born and raised in Cyprus and emigrated from the South to the North, reflects this in his paintings. In addition to his works on migration, he emphasizes the division of the island through his work Barricade, which can be seen in the collection. İlseven, whom can be connected to immigration, or the relationship between human and nature continuously intersecting with each other, is also remarkable in the vitality of the colors that attract us into his paintings.
